too long

its been far to long since i have posted on here, so with Christmas not far away an my lack of money i will be making a lot of presents for people, which means i will return to blogging again, yay!

back to work blues

Why is that on my first day back to work, i wake up to a lovely sunny day, oh well. I have had a great week off an would love anther but money needs to be made so back i go. The first few days of my holiday were spent up in Edinburgh at the fringe which was fab an i took way too many photos, some of which i Will put up on here an the rest of the week was spent generally doing not a lot, which is really the only way to spend a week off work.

old chair, new chair

As promised here is a picture of the old knitting chair that i have recently re-covered. When i deiced to do this i hadn't realised how much work it would take, as it was the first time i had attempted to do anything like that. Unfortunately i didn't take any photos of how it looked before, but it was dark wood an had a dark red fabric on. The first thing i did was to sand the chair and take it back to the beautiful light colour that it now is, then came choosing the fabric (my favourite part) i have used a one from ikea, as it wasn't to expansive an i loved the design on it! When it came to the actual fitting of the fabric i did cheat an get a helping hand from my mother, very pleased i did though as it took both of us 2 weeks to get it finished, but we did it, and i have to say i am very pleased with end result. Definitely something i will do again.

its been a while

so its been a while since i posted anything on here, partly due to work an mostly due to the bad weather which has stopped me from being in my lovely back yard, an has depressed me slightly. but things are on the up an i shall soon post some pictures to show how the plants are getting on, which is quite well! an while the weather has been bad i have occupied myself with re-covering an old knitting chair that once belong to my grandmother, an had been left to rot in the shed, until i found it an demanded that it be used once again. pictures shall soon be up for you all to see how it now looks.

my little yard

My little yard, has this year become my favorite place to be, even more so when the sun is out, an to make it feel a bit more homely i decided that i was going to try an fill it with as many plants that i could, which wont be many more as it is really little! this is one of the first blooms that my clematis has given me an i love it, so happy that i haven't killed it yet (an hopefully wont) it also looks like there will be many more, cant wait to see what it will be like when they all come out.

design envy

Design sponge is one of my favourites, but i have to say that i do tend to get a bit of design envy, that am sure we all do at times, looking at all the beautiful an exciting products an ideas that others can come up with makes me feel like there is always more i can do. Am sure that this is not a bad thing, as it simply pushes me do more an be better.

a hard days work

Another day, another doller as the saying goes, an this was a hard day! they only joy of it was coming home to find a nice chilled bottle of wine in the fridge an some good crafty blogs to read through while catching the last of the sun the day had to offer, thank god for the small things in life.

a day in the attic

After getting a call from my parents saying that they were going to be clearing out the attic, i jumped at the chance to rummage through the piles of boxes that they had been storing up there for years, and couldn't wait to see what treasures i would find. I wasn't to be disappointed, after an hour, these two lovely brass birds were to be the first of a few things that my parents would be sending me home with, i hope you like them just as much as i do.
